there are lots of animals all around and have adapted to being invisible…generally they leave you alone…there is too much for them to choose from to choose your place. I’m just saying from experience on our ranch in North Western Montana.

Generally is the key work. If there are predators there is a risk of predation. So far they are leaving us alone, but all we need is a bad winter to change that. Goats and sheep make easy prey and if an animal is sick or starving they are going to go after the easiest prey. I’m hoping that the predators in the area continue to leave us alone, but it’s always best to be on guard and to know what’s out there.

Foxes though, foxes always go after chickens - no matter if there is other prey for them. There was a crap ton of rabbits around my property back in upstate, yet the foxes still preferred to hunt my chickens.
