Called around today to get prices to get my one little female cat fixed… wow prices for cats and dogs are just as ridiculous around here as they were back upstate. Luckily the one vet my MIL uses only charges $80 and will probably give us a discount because he’s a friend of the family. I was hoping to use one of the vets closer to us instead because my MIL’s vet is about 40 minutes away, but all the places around here charge around $200. 

Also made a phone call to the local slaughter house to inquire about getting Toony slaughtered. He said that as long as she is in good health and not skinny (which she definitely isn’t) there is no reason I can’t have her processed to get hams, bacon, pork chop, ect. instead of just sausage.

He said if she is around 500lbs my cost to have her butchered and processed (that includes smoking) would be around $325 but it could be more or less depending on her condition and how much meat he gets off from her.
