I should have worded that better. Duke Energy is putting in a wind farm right by our house. At least one of the turbines is going to be on our neighbor’s property.
The turbines found on a wind farm (normally 1.5 - 2.5 MW) could not be hooked up to a house, they have to be routed through a sub-station and the power is distributed to the grid.
There are small wind turbines you can buy for your property, but they are pretty expensive, especially if you have to pay someone to install them.
